On Thursday afternoon, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Peace Operations, Jean-Pierre Lacroix, will visit the dead zone in the area of ​​Pyla, to see first-hand the situation on the ground and the projects being carried out within the framework of the Understanding which was achieved, after the events of last August.

Mr. Lacroix, who will visit Cyprus from November 1st to 3rd, will arrive on the island at noon on Wednesday and is scheduled to have separate meetings with the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulidis, at the Presidential Palace on the same day Palace at 3.30 pm, and with the Turkish Cypriot leader, Ersin Tatar, in the occupied territories, at 5 pm.

As KYPE is informed, during his stay in Cyprus, Mr. Lacroix will also have meetings at Ledra Palace with representatives of civil society from both sides, and specifically with women's organizations and youth organizations.
