Paphos Police arrested three people for a case of escape from legal arrest and attack against a police officer.
According to the spokesman of the Paphos Police Directorate and Head of the Paphos Police Department, Michalis Nikolaou, for the investigated case of escape from legal arrest, assault, causing real bodily harm to a member of the Paphos Police, assault on a member of the Police, robbery and theft initially a 26-year-old man was arrested who was being held for one day and then two other people aged 51 and 25.
Specifically, said Mr. Nikolaou, on the night of Holy Saturday in the church of Emba, a member of ADE Paphos made a remark to a driver of a vehicle that was parked near the church and that caused a prolonged commotion with the horn of his vehicle. Four other people were in the vehicle, one of whom allegedly pushed the police officer and his arrest followed.
According to the Police, this is a 26-year-old man, who is said to have managed to escape the legal arrest with the help of two other persons, 51-year-old and 25-year-old. The 26-year-old was arrested on Easter Sunday and appeared before the Paphos District Court, which issued a detention order for one day. The arrest of the other two persons followed. All of them were charged in writing to be summoned to court later.
The examinations are continued by the Paphos Police.
