The number of registered unemployed plunged 63% year-on-year in September 2021, with the big drop being driven mainly by the decline in the accommodation and catering services sector, which on an annual basis rose to 83,5% and trade (-60%).
According to the Statistical Service, based on the data kept at the District Employment Offices, the number of registered unemployed at the end of September 2021, reached 11.324 persons.
Based on the data corrected for seasonal fluctuations, which show the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed in September 2021 decreased to 15.907 persons compared to 18.282 in the previous month.
Compared to September 2020, there was a decrease of 19.394 persons or 63,1%.
According to the data of the Statistical Service, the decline is mainly attributed to the sectors of accommodation services and catering services (decrease of 6.115 persons), trade (decrease of 3.520), processing (decrease of 1.156), transport and storage (decrease of 996), financial and insurance activities (decrease 912) as well as the decrease of 998 persons in the new entrants to the labor market.
