At the same time, the Department of Meteorology issued a new yellow warning for strong storms, which are expected to affect Cyprus. The warning will be in effect today from 10:00am until 19:00pm tonight.

Today the weather will initially be partly cloudy and possible isolated rain, mainly in the mountains, but gradually it will become mostly cloudy and localized rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected at intervals. In a storm, hail is also possible. Winds will be mainly northeast to southeast, light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and locally in the afternoon, up to strong 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough. The temperature will rise to 24 degrees inland, around 22 on the coast and 12 degrees in the higher mountains.

The night the weather will be mostly cloudy and intermittent rains are expected, while isolated storms are expected in the west, south and east. Winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast, moderate 4 and temporarily strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be a little rough and locally to rough. The temperature will drop to 10 degrees inland around 13 on the coast and 5 degrees in the higher mountains.

On Tuesday the weather will be mostly cloudy and local rains are expected at intervals and isolated storms are expected in the afternoon.

On Wednesday and Thursday the weather will be partly cloudy and isolated rains or even isolated storms are expected at intervals.

The temperature will fluctuate at the same levels on Tuesday, which are close to the climatic averages, while a gradual rise is expected for Wednesday and Thursday.
