After a long wait, the events (weddings and baptisms) resume today after the new relaxations announced on Friday.
According to the new decree, from today Monday until the end of the month, weddings, baptisms and funerals are allowed, with a maximum number of 200 people, provided that the fullness of the space where the ceremony takes place does not exceed 30% of capacity of.
Lunches and / or dinners are held only outside the dining areas and outdoors of events and hotels / tourist accommodation with a maximum number of 200 people and provided that the attendees are seated.
For the time being the reception / cocktail party is prohibited but it will be allowed from the 1st of June onwards, with a maximum number of 250 people at an outdoor reception at any time.
Speaking to SigmaLive, the president of PASYEPEK (Pancyprian Association of Professional Events) Konstantinos Mosaikos, said that there is strong protest from the couples about the schedule, since at the moment the duration of the events will be depending on the time of the travel ban.
"The association does not agree with the schedules set by the Ministry of Health. "With this schedule, there can be no real restart," he stressed.
More specifically, Mr. Mosaikos stated that you will not want to have your wedding with a predetermined closing time until 12 at night. In addition, he added that once there is a safe pass there is no reason to limit the time.
At the same time, he stated that they have already spoken with the Ministry of Health as an Association, requesting an extension of the schedule for the wedding receptions until 2 in the morning.
He then clarified that dancing on the track is allowed for the couple and the parents (of the couple) while the other guests can dance around their tables.
