A trisagion followed by the Metropolitan of Famagusta and Constantia, Mr. Vassilios. The main speaker at the event was the Deputy General Secretary of SEK, Mr. Andreas Matsas, who praised the heroism, courage, bravery and love of the hero for the homeland. The Deputy Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. George Economou, also addressed a greeting.
An artistic program followed with the choir "MELIZONA" of the Municipality of Paralimni and laying of wreaths.
Finally, the TASOU MARKOU road race was held at a distance of 7 kilometers, inside the main roads in Paralimni. At the finish of the runners, they were awarded commemorative medals and diplomas.
The event, organized by the Famagusta SEC and the association PERIKLIS DIMITRIOU, was under the auspices of the Municipality of Paralimni.
