The Church is not going to accept a solution to the Cyprus problem that will not provide for the withdrawal of the occupying troops, the end of the invasive rights and the adoption of the four basic freedoms, Archbishop Chrysostomos emphasizes.

In his Christmas circular, the Cypriot Chrysostom notes that the collapse of the talks through the fault of Turkey, makes clear the goal of the occupying power to occupy and Turkify the whole of Cyprus.

He points out that any continuation of the inter-communal talks with new concessions from the Greek Cypriot side will have tragic and irreversible consequences for the Greek Cypriots.
The Primate of the Church of Cyprus also states that even without occupation troops and invasive rights of Turkey, with what the Turks claim in government, the State will not be able to function and very soon the Greek Cypriots will become hostages of Ankara.
We are all called to add, to demand unwaveringly and vigorously, that free people around the world enjoy.
Archbishop Chrysostom points out that it will take a great deal of effort to convince the international community, which has forgotten that the Cyprus issue is a problem of invasion and occupation.
He notes that mental endurance and a fighting spirit are needed to deal with the Turkish reactions, pointing out, however, that the peoples are not liberated by pleas and appeals to the feelings of the conquerors.
The Archbishop emphasizes that struggle, planning of movements and relentless obsession with the law are needed, no matter how many years pass.
