The will of the Greek Cypriot side is to achieve a just and lasting solution, through a peaceful dialogue, which will reunite Cyprus and free it from occupation, guarantees and invasive rights, President Anastasiadis declared once again.

He added that he had made this clear to both the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the rest of our interlocutors. Referring to the talks in Switzerland, the President of the Republic said that even after the promise he made to the Cypriot people - that he would not bring before him any solution - it was not possible to accept Turkey's demands.
He pointed out that his aim was to create a truly independent state, which would be ruled by the Cypriots for the Cypriots and not the Turks through the Turkish Cypriots, with the result that the whole of Cyprus became a vassal of Ankara and implementer of its policy.
President Anastasiadis reiterated that, as he has clarified to Antonio Guterres, we are ready to enter, at any time, into the inter-communal dialogue to discuss and exhaust all margins of agreement on the internal aspects of the Cyprus problem.
As for the international aspect, he added, what he has said in every direction is that this time there should finally be a well-prepared conference on Cyprus so that we do not wait for the last hours of a ten-day course of talks to find out Ankara's real intentions.
Concluding, the President of the Republic called for unity, pointing out that whenever we were divided the only thing we caused was disaster.
The President of the Republic spoke at the memorial of the hero Theodosius Chatzitheodosiou, in Kato Polemidia.
