He adds, however, that this is just another step in the process. "In this regard, we are convinced of the need for dialogue for which there is no alternative."
He added that Moscow's position remains unchanged in favor of the restoration of Cyprus in the form of an independent, sovereign, territorially complete and united state that meets the interests of both the Cypriots themselves and the goal of securing peace in the eastern Mediterranean. The way to achieve this goal is through a comprehensive, fair, stable and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, he added.

Mr. Lavrov goes on to say that "after this, some Cypriot media launched a campaign, which seems to have been provoked and devised, with the aim of discrediting the cooperation of our countries in the field of providing legal aid in criminal and civil matters. cases ".
"It is non-existent to impose the position that allegedly Russian requests have political motives and character", as well as that the cooperation "goes beyond the limits of the prevailing international legal practice" he adds.
He also notes that the Republic of Cyprus implements such cooperation with other countries, such as the USA and Great Britain "however, the target, to speculate some of the media in Cyprus, Russia has been chosen".
According to the Russian Foreign Minister, the aim of Browder himself and the circles that support him is to give a political color to this issue.
