The Minister of Defense, Christoforos Fokaidis, spoke about the restoration of the truth, saying that the issue of possible misuse of medical expenses by the following defense at the Cyprus Embassy in Moscow earlier, was raised before the Auditor General by the Ministry of Defense.

In his statements in Limassol, Mr. Fokaidis stated that "in order to rectify the real facts, since there are some limits as to the tolerance that must be shown in order to avoid controversies on defense issues, I want to clarify that the issue of possible misuse of expenses medical care by the former defense attorney at our embassy in Moscow, was located by the Ministry of Defense itself. It was not identified by the Auditor ".
As Mr. Fokaidis noted, the Ministry notified the matter to the Auditor General and immediately did all the appropriate. "He took the right decisions, he took the right actions, in terms of the issues within his competence."
The Minister of Defense stated that he requested the immediate recall of the following and at the same time an investigation by our embassy in Moscow and the personal control of the confidential file of medical expenses by the Ministry of Health.
In addition, YPAM, said Mr. Fokaidis, in order to avoid possible similar cases in the future, requested that every six months they be informed about the medical expenses of the following defenses who serve in the various embassies.
"Therefore, there is not the slightest issue, nor was there any recommendation. "And if someone reads the Auditor's report, there is not the slightest recommendation for the Ministry of Defense," he concluded.
