Turkish F-16s flew over four Greek islands at noon. As announced by GEETHA, a formation of six Turkish F-16 fighter jets entered the Athens FIR at 15:01 without submitting a flight plan between Lesvos and Chios. The formation split into four and two aircraft respectively.
At 15:25 the 4 Turkish planes flew over Fourni at 4.000 feet. At 15:27 the 2 Turkish aircraft flew over Makronisi and the Cannibals of the island complex of Fourni, at 8.500 feet and 8.200 feet respectively, and at 15:29 over Agathonisi, at 8.100 feet.
The four Turkish aircraft departed from the ATHENS FIR 15:28 and the two aircraft at 15:30 respectively, south of it. Samos.
All Turkish aircraft were identified and intercepted by respective Greek fighters.
It is recalled that this is the 4th time this year that Turkish aircraft fly over the specific islands - mainly over the Cannibals - following the same procedure and without submitting flight plans.
