Architects and artists have joined forces to create an interactive online platform, Hands-on Famagusta, through which citizens can create their Imaginary Famagusta. The platform even wants to contribute to future collaborations and coexistences in post-conflict Cyprus.
Speaking on Sigma's show "Front Page", the head of Hands-on Famagusta, Socrates Stratis, said that the project started 4 years ago with the cooperation of an informal group of Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots. The team focused on the questions that need to be answered after the solution: "Whatever the solution, there will be a cohabitation. "This cohabitation should create a new agreement regarding the future of Famagusta", he said characteristically. He also explained that the team behind the project looked at Famagusta as a whole, from Deryneia to Salamina. It was also studied how the closed Famagusta is integrated with the rest of Famagusta after the solution. We do not get away from the image that is printed in the school notebooks.
