According to the Police, yesterday shortly after 3:30 pm, members of YKAN Famagusta, after information, searched in Paralimni a 25-year-old bartender from Paralimni, in whose possession was found a nylon package containing 4,5 grams of cocaine.
Under a search warrant, YKAN members later searched the 25-year-old's home, in which they found a precision scale with traces of white powder, possibly cocaine. The amount of ten thousand euros in banknotes of 10,20, 50, 100 and 200 euros was also found.
The young man failed to give satisfactory explanations to the members of YKAN about the legal existence of the banknotes and was taken into custody.
The 25-year-old was taken to the offices of YKAN Famagusta but denies any cooperation with the Police.
The young man is expected to appear before the Famagusta District Court today for a detention order.
