The Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth of Cyprus (Office of Secondary Music Education) in collaboration with the Municipality of Ayia Napa is organizing the 6th International Music Olympiad, in Ayia Napa, on April 18-20, 2024. It should be noted that the International Music Olympiad was organized for the first time in 2012 in Tallinn, Estonia.
This international action aims to strengthen the development of international contacts in the field of school music education and hopes to contribute to the achievement of international and European goals such as contributing to peace, developing solidarity and mutual respect between peoples, combating social exclusion and discrimination, the promotion of social justice and respect for cultural and linguistic diversity.
During the event, the following events-concerts as well as the competition part will be open to the public:
Opening ceremony:
Thursday, April 18, at 19:30 at the Amphitheater of the Sea Museum in Ayia Napa.
Competitive Part:
Vocal Performance Competition: Friday, April 19, from 15:30 onwards at the Giorgos Seferis Cultural Center in Ayia Napa (limited number of listeners).
Composition Competition: Saturday, April 20, at 10.00 – 12.00 and 13.00 – 14.30, at the Giorgos Seferis Cultural Center in Ayia Napa (limited number of listeners).
Closing ceremony:
Saturday, April 20 at 19:30 at the Ayia Napa Marina.
Free entrance.
