The fan trick to kill mosquitoes

Mosquitoes are one of the biggest summer nuisances. They break the peace of everyone's days and leave their marks on the body and... on our nerves!

Well mosquito sprays, tablets, snakes and electric mosquito nets with light are also fashionable, but what you can achieve with a strong fan, you can't even imagine it.

Fortunately Dan Rojas of the GreenPowerScience YouTube channel figured it out and presents it to us. His method can help you get rid of up to 4.000 mosquitoes per night and, in fact, without using any kind of dangerous chemical, or other related substance.

All you need is a bottle of sparkling water and a large, very powerful floor fan.

In the video you will initially see Dan using his dog as "bait", but the main "trick" starts at 2′:00".

The fan trick to kill mosquitoes

Open the bottle of sparkling water a little to allow the carbon dioxide it contains to escape little by little. Mosquitoes are known to be very attracted to carbon dioxide, which they "detect" in the atmosphere. We usually have the misfortune of finding it in the air we exhale.

Then turn on the fan that you will have placed relatively close to the bottle.

Attention: put a protective mesh (like tulle) on the back of the fan, where it "sucks" the air.

The pesky…guests are attracted to the carbon dioxide in the air, approach the source (the bottle), but are swept away by the fan's strong suction air current and stick to the mesh, unable to escape.

At the end, spray the mesh with a mixture of pure alcohol, to kill mosquitoes.

Alcohol is completely healthy and safe, it evaporates after use and leaves no chemical residue.
