A police officer was injured during incidents that broke out at the end of the football match between the teams Alki Oroklini - Onisilou that took place yesterday afternoon at the Famagusta stadium in Larnaca.
According to the Police, at the end of the match, there was a fight between the technical staffs of the two teams, while 5-6 unknown people who were inside the stadium, moved against Alki fans.
An off-duty police officer was at the stadium who tried to stop the fight, but was threatened and attacked by a 33-year-old man, resulting in a head injury.
The policeman was transported by ambulance to Larnaca General Hospital, where he was detained for precautionary reasons.
The 33-year-old testified and the police proceeded to arrest him last night under a court warrant
The case is being investigated by the Larnaca Police Department.
