In November 2019, the Disney + subscription service announced that it is preparing a biographical film on the life of Giannis Antetokoumbo entitled "Greek Freak".
The title of the film refers to the nickname of the great basketball player and will focus on Antetokunbo's childhood, the difficulties he went through and the huge course of his career, first in Greece and now in the NBA.
According to information from Variety, the protagonists have already been found. Uche Agada undertakes to play Giannis Antitokoumbo, in the first role of his career.
At his side, we will see the actress Yetide Badaki who will play Vera's mother and Dayo Okeniyi who will play the athlete's beloved father, Charles.
Antetokunbo himself participates in the production of Greek Freak, as well as Bernie Goldman, producer of the movie "300". The screenplay is written by Arash Amel (A Private War, Project X-Traction) and directed by Akin Omotoso.
