The recommendation of the Federation's board of directors for the amendment of the statute was accepted, so the term of office of the new president will not be until the end of the term of office of Kostakis Koutsokoumnis (2019), but also for the next four years, ie until 2023.
From there, it was decided that the assembly for the election of a president, which will be attended by a UEFA official, will take place on Tuesday, March 27, and the nominations will have to be submitted by Friday, March 23.
Of course, it is not expected that any candidacies will be submitted other than that of the current vice president, George Kouma, who is gaining the support of the vast majority of unions and will be the man to lead the KOP for the next five years.

Today's Extraordinary General Statutory Assembly of the KOP approved the proposal of the Board of Directors of the Federation to amend the statutes, so that the new President is not elected only for the rest of the term of the late Kostakis Koutsokoumnis, but until 2023.
It was also decided that the Extraordinary General Meeting of the CFP for the election of the President will take place on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:30 am, at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia.
As informed today by the Vice President of the Federation, George Koumas, the members of the General Assembly, the work of the Electoral Assembly will be attended by a UEFA official.
Applications for the position of President must be submitted up to three (3) full days before the day of convening the Extraordinary General Meeting, ie by Friday, March 23, 2018.
Any candidacy with the support of at least four (4) members of the General Assembly is accepted.
Applications can be submitted either in person to the Federation, by registered mail, or by hand through representatives and by fax.
Applications submitted after the above deadline will be considered overdue and will not be considered.
The work of today's Assembly, which took place in the presence of all seventeen members of the General Assembly and in the presence of several Presidents of Associations A 'Category, was chaired by the Vice President of the Federation George Koumas.
