The community of Liopetri is reviving today and tomorrow in its events the 60th anniversary of the heroic battle of the Barn and honors the EOKA lads Andrea Karyo, Elias Papakyriakou, Foti Pitta and Christos Samara.
Bands from the surrounding communities will hold a candlelight vigil that will start today at 7:30 pm and will be directed to the Monumental Area, where the sacrifice of the lads will be performed and an artistic program will follow.
Also, on Sunday, September 2, the day of the sacrifice, after the Divine Liturgy, a parade will be held with the LOC to the new inn of Gravia of EOKA.
