The emblematic poetic work of Giannis Ritsos "Farewell" is presented on stage, highlighting the uniqueness of the heroism and sacrifice of Grigoris Afxentiou.
With the interpretation of Konstantinos Alkiviadis in the role of Grigoris Afxentiou and the well-crafted direction of Marinos Anogyriatis, the play attempts to convey timeless messages about the great values of life, self-denial and homeland.
In Sotira the performance will take place on Wednesday, February 28 at 19:30 at the Municipal Theater of the Municipality of Sotira. The show is under the auspices of the Municipality of Sotiras and takes place with the support of the Sotiras Reserve Squadron Club and the Sotiras "Action" Initiative Team.
The other performers are: Lakis Genethlis (sets / costumes), Eleana Zeginoglou (music) and Vera Papastavrou (video). The Production Director was taken over by the well-known poet - lyricist Polys Kyriakou.
Ritsos wrote the poetic monologue "Farewell", as a tribute to the battle of Macheiras, the result of which was the death of Grigoris Afxentiou. It was written on the day of his sacrifice and attempts to reveal the ecstatic state of the hero, as for 10 hours, under siege, in his hideout, he meditates on his life and his decision to die.
