For the 8th consecutive year, the Lavender Festival is held at the Cyherbia Botanical Park in Avgorou, from the 8th to the 23rd of June 2019.
The Cyherbia Botanical Park
The park is a unique place that offers rich experiences to visitors. The path of meditation is framed by herb gardens with thousands of lavender, which compose a magical setting. The distillery distills the lavender essential oil. The other unique areas of the park, such as the Labyrinth, the forest "Tour of Cyprus" and the village of Fairies offer unforgettable moments for the whole family.
The Festival
A celebration of the queen of herbs, the Lavender Festival, is the culmination of the botanical calendar. Lavandula Angustifolia, otherwise known as English lavender, blooms only once a year, in June and July. From this species is produced the essential oil, which is widely used in perfumery, pharmaceuticals, cooking and tea making.
