Eleftheria Pilakkouri from Asbestos Limassol, was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia and needs a compatible donor for a bone marrow transplant.
Eleftheria was born on 9/12/1957 in Asbestos and lives there with her family. She is a mother of 3 children and especially loved in the village. Helps those in need and especially the elderly.
"Those who do not drive are taken to the hospital on a non-profit basis. Keeps company of the sick and those who can not, goes to their medicines and shopping. In the afternoons she usually goes to the traditional cafe of the village and plays backgammon with her father. The whole village loves her! " reports Mr. Kritonas Kyriakidis, community leader of Asbestos.

Who can become a bone marrow donor:
Anyone who is 18-45 years old and does not have a serious medical problem such as communicable diseases, malignancies or heart diseases can become a volunteer donor. Registering as a volunteer donor is a purely voluntary and altruistic act.
