The exact dates and costs per country will be announced soon by the company

After several months of delay, Apple's 'smart' speaker, under the brand name 'HomePod', is set to debut in international markets in early February.

As the company announced, the orders for the new device will start from this Friday, January 26th. The device will be available in the US, Australia and Britain, with the price set at $ 349, followed by France and Germany in the spring. According to the company, the different launch dates of the device have to do with the conversions that have to be done in different languages in data and technical parameters.

It is noted that initially the device was announced to be released on the market by the end of 2017, with Apple announcing the delay in its availability literally at the last minute. However, the company has not announced any changes or conversions it has made in the meantime, with the technical features of the HomePad remaining the same as those announced in June, when the device was introduced.

According to what was presented in June, the HomePod has a height of seven inches (ie less than 18 cm) and is "an innovative speaker while additionally incorporating functions of a digital assistant", as the company had announced.

Its fabric cover hides a series of speakers that are arranged so that the sound is directed in all directions. At the same time, it has the ability to "recognize" the surrounding space and direct the sound to specific points.

The HomePod is powered by music files from the Apple Music subscription music service, with which it connects directly. It has a total of six microphones "hidden" inside which work with the digital assistant Siri.

In addition to music control, any HomeKit device can be controlled via the HomePod and voice commands.
