Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody talks about his experience as the new protagonist of Johnnie Walker's campaign and explains how the No. 1 in sales of Scotch whiskey has inspired him.

First of all, we would like to refer to your new movie "The French Dispatch". She is amazing. Tell us about this experience.

Thanks. The movie is fun and unique. This was the fourth time I had worked with Wes Anderson. I love France, that's why I enjoyed both the shooting that took place there and the premiere in Cannes.

The last few years have been quite difficult for all of us. How did your work process change during them?

Time has become even more precious. It is very important for me to work creatively and so now when I go to work I feel even more grateful that I can continue to do what I love.

Really, what motivated you to get involved in JW's new ad campaign?

I value Johnny Walker as a product and as a brand. I consider his approach to be a source of inspiration: we must persevere and move forward, we must not lose touch with each other, we must pursue what we love - to "keep walking" - "keep walking".

What drinks do you prefer? Only whiskey?

I like quality whiskey like Johnny Walker Black, but my bar is generally well stocked.

You said that success and progress are very important to you. Who has inspired you the most?

I am most inspired by my parents, who worked so hard and encouraged me to always be true to myself and to have big dreams.

How did you get through the lockdown?

I spent time with my loved ones and I was lucky enough to work on some great things. I spent six months in Canada filming a gothic horror series for Epix called "Chapelwaite", based on Stephen King's short story "Jerusalem's Lot". I finished editing and composing the music for the movie 'Clean' in which I was one of the screenwriters. I was still talking on the phone and painting.

Have you missed the trips?

I have become accustomed to traveling a lot in recent years and so I really missed the feeling of how easy access to all parts of the earth used to be. Somehow this change made me want to travel again and connect with my friends abroad and this is something I will appreciate even more in the future.

In the Walkers video, you had to say 'Cheers' in so many languages. Which language made it most difficult for you?

I loved the challenge of making toast in so many languages!

What new things are you excited about lately?

This time has rekindled my love for music and music creation. This is one of the things that excited me about this campaign. I was glad that I was able to contribute with my music and push myself to sing the melody in the commercial.

The idea behind the Keep Walking campaign is that we need to push the boundaries for the good of the whole and achieve our goal in a bold, unique, innovative, challenging and imaginative way. How do you perceive it in terms of your own attitude towards life?

I believe that the spirit of the campaign reflects the way I work creatively, the way I challenge myself and try to push my limits.

You are an idol of fashion. Really, what is your philosophy around style?

Our style is the personal reflection of who we are. I do not think it should be dictated by any trends. It is something personal of ours.

Johnnie Walker is the number one Scotch whiskey in the world (IWSR 2019), making the Johnnie Walker brand the most popular Scotch Whiskey brand in the world. It belongs to the excellent collection of alcoholic beverages of the leading company Diageo, which is represented and distributed in Cyprus by the Fotiadis Group of Companies.
