The Ministry of Health informs the public that the 2nd batch of 15,000 seasonal flu vaccines has been received.

The remaining vaccines (53,000), according to the Convention's provisions, will be delivered in installments in the coming weeks and the process will be completed by mid-November.

It is recalled that according to the existing program, vaccination with the seasonal flu vaccine is indicated for people who fall into the following high-risk groups:

All persons over 65 years of age,
Children older than 6 months and adults with one or more of the following aggravating factors or chronic diseases:
Chronic respiratory diseases
Chronic cardiovascular disease
Diabetes mellitus or other chronic metabolic disease
Chronic kidney or liver disease
Neurological or neuromuscular diseases
Sickle cell anemia and other hemoglobinopathies
Immunosuppression (hereditary or acquired)
Transplantation of organs or primordial hematopoietic cells
Children and adolescents in need of long-term aspirin treatment
People with body mass index (BMI)> 40 kg / m2,
Pregnant women regardless of gestational age, women, breastfeeding,
People who are in close contact with children <6 months old or caring for people who belong to a high-risk group,
Employees in health care facilities (medical and other staff) and in refugee-migrant accommodation centers,
Veterinarians as well as professionals in the field of animal production and especially: poultry farmers, pig breeders, breeders, butchers and generally people who come into systematic contact with poultry.

Aiming to give priority to vulnerable groups, and to avoid the inconvenience of people falling under the seasonal flu vaccine criteria, the vaccines will be given from Wednesday, November 6, 2019 KATOPIN RANTEVOU to the following Vaccination Centers of the Ministry of Health, on the reported days and hours:

1) For people over the age of 65 as well as adults who fall into one or more aggravating factors or chronic diseases listed above:

It is noted that in order to be able to be vaccinated, people over the age of 65 must present an ID card or other identification document, and people under the age of 65 who belong to the above-mentioned vulnerable groups of the population, any evidence confirms the category to which they fall (eg Medical Certificate).
