Green leafy vegetables

Put the green leafy vegetables in a bowl of cold water and a little vinegar for a few minutes. Then rinse them under cold running water to remove any dirt or germs trapped in their leaves.

Cauliflower and broccoli

These are vegetables with many cracks which means that germs can hide well there. So it is better to soak them first for a while in water before rinsing them under plenty of running water.
