Many times we eat leftover food the day before. However, this needs to be taken care of, as reheated food is eaten, but it can undermine your health.

Experts warn that when reheating yesterday's food, you must be very careful, as it can become dangerous. One of these foods is rice.

If you eat rice that you cooked the day before and has not been stored properly, you risk food poisoning. This can happen because boiling it does not always kill all the pathogenic germs it contains.

The chances of germs multiplying in rice increase when kept at room temperature, according to University of North Carolina food safety expert Benjamin Chapman.

What you can do to be safe is to put the rice in the fridge within two hours of cooking. You should also wash it with enough water and cool it after boiling it. Another option is to keep it at a warm temperature.
