All Institutions, ie the Municipalities and Communities of the Provinces of Larnaca and Famagusta, will be credited with the 31,5 million euros that resulted from the Supplementary Agreement for the Management of the Kosi Landfill.
As the Chairman of the Council for the Exploitation, Disposal and Utilization of Household Waste of Larnaca and Famagusta, Mayor of Aradippou Evangelos Evangelidis stated to KYPE, “during today's meeting of the Council it was decided that Kosisis, are credited to all the Bodies, ie the Municipalities and the Communities of the two Provinces ".
He explained that "the 31,5 million euros granted by the state to the provinces of Larnaca and Famagusta were returned through negotiation and after a great struggle that took place in the last 6 years."
Mr. Evangelidis noted that "the credit will be made by the method of the average market and for the period until November 31, 2017. Within days the Council's decision will be notified to all Bodies to be informed, taking into account that the most of them have a credit note. "
Mr Evangelidis expressed "gratitude to the government for the € 31,5 million grant" and added that "Municipalities and Communities should now start paying their dues after the decision to reduce garbage fees from 85" euros per ton to 36 euros ".
