Yesterday, Sunday 25 August, an anti-occupation event of the people of Achni took place with a march in the dead zone and a prayer for returning to the community.
The event also included speeches and an art program. This was followed by a resolution on the Authorities of the British Dhekelia Bases, which borders the area of Achna, and which calls on Britain to assume its responsibilities as a guarantor force in Cyprus.
This year is the third anti-occupation event of the Achniotes as it marks 45 years since the occupation of the community.
