The hero of the National Liberation Struggle of EOKA, Yasoumi Chatzitheodosiou, as well as all those who were annulled in any way during the struggles of Cyprus in the years 1967-1974, were honored on Sunday, July 22, 2018, by the Church, Cypriot state and local community in Achna Forest community.
The Divine Liturgy and the religious memorial service at the Holy Temple of Agia Marina and Archangel Michael were presided over by the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia and Amm.Mr. Vassilios, assisted by the pastors of the church and deacons of the Diocese.
On behalf of the Government, the Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment Mr. Costas Kadis was present, who also delivered a commemorative speech, talking about the debt of the State of Cyprus to pay tribute to its heroes and those who gave the most valuable property, their lives, to defend the freedom and integrity of the homeland.
Then a procession was formed to the monument of the hero in the community square where a trishagio was performed and wreaths were laid.
