Another 263 migrants arrived in two boats in Cyprus – 17-year-old arrested

Another 263 migrants arrived yesterday, Tuesday 2/4, in Cyprus, in two boats.

According to information, the first boat was located 12 nautical miles east of Cape Greco and was carrying 27 people of which 16 men, 5 women, 6 minors of which one was unaccompanied, all from Syria.

The migrants were safely transported to the Port of Larnaca where their details were recorded and then transferred to the Pournara Migrant Temporary Accommodation Center in Kokkinotrimithia.

The second boat was carrying 236 irregular migrants. According to the same information, only men can be seen in the boat which was spotted 35 nautical miles east of Cape Greco.

The radars had also detected a third boat, in which it was finally established that there were no illegal immigrants on board.

After police investigations, a 17-year-old man was arrested by the TAE Larnaca who is said to be the navigator of the boat from Syria.
