With a decision on September 18, the "cabinet" ordered the start of preparations between the competent "government departments" and Turkish army officers, in order to finalize and mark the area in the enclosed city of Famagusta that will be given by the occupying army to " Ministry of Tourism".
According to a post on the Cyprus website, the "ministerial" decision was published in the "official newspaper" on November 13th. The separation and finalization of the area will be handled by the "cadastral and map departments" and by the "administration" of the "Turkish Cypriot peacekeeping forces". "Undersecretary of Tourism" Ismet Esengiel told Cyprus that the area where the aim is to build a marina with an international tender extends from the peninsula - as he writes - where the "governor's house" is located to the fishing shelter.
Essenigel also rejected reports of hotels operating in the enclosed area in 2018, saying there was no such decision or initiative on the issue of Varos and tourist exploitation by the "tourism ministry".
