In forty days of mourning, the Community of Avgorou mourns the death of the 23-year-old law student of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Kyprianos Papaioannou, whose body was identified with the DNA method on Thursday evening. Kyprianos is one of the victims of the great tragedy following the head-on collision of trains in the Tempe Valley at midnight on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
As reported by the Community Head of Avgorou, Panagiotis Michilas, the community has declared a forty-day period of mourning, while speaking with Kyprianos's mother, she characteristically told him: "Pray for my son's soul."
