One store in Ayia Napa was completely destroyed and three others with clothing, souvenirs and ice cream, suffered extensive damage from a fire that broke out early today.

In his statements, Andreas Konstantinou, spokesman for the Famagusta Police Department, stated that "around four this morning, a fire broke out in a hair salon on Nisi Avenue in Ayia Napa. The fire, which was extinguished by the Fire Service, completely destroyed the hair salon and caused extensive damage to three adjacent shops.
He added that "at this stage the exact causes of the fire remain unknown."
In a short time, men from the Famagusta TAE, the Fire Brigade and the Electromechanical Service, are expected to begin investigations to identify the causes of the fire.
