In its ruling, the Court "accepted as credible the testimony of all the prosecution witnesses", who "made a very good impression", gave "immediate and clear answers to the questions referred to them, while their disarming answers left no room for doubt". .

At the same time, it rejected "as completely unreliable" the testimony of the accused from whom "the Court did not get a good impression, that it did not tell the truth and tried to mislead the House" while finally in a new testimony on 28/7/19 she admitted that she said lies that she was raped on 17/7/19, that the truth is that she was not raped and that what happened in the apartment was with her consent ".

The Court in its decision “also rejected positions raised by the defense in relation to alleged omissions of the Police and erroneous guidance as to the actual facts of the accused's complaint, affecting the defendant's right to a fair trial and violations of her rights as a victim crime and rape ”.

According to Mr. Papathanassiou, the Court ruled that "the guilt of the accused has been proven beyond any doubt" and added that the Prosecution Authority managed to prove beyond any reasonable doubt the case against the 19-year-old who was found guilty of committing the crime. who was accused ”.

Speaking about the mitigation of the sentence, Ritsa Pekri, one of the lawyers of the 19-year-old, stated that the girl "has regretted her act under which she was under psychological pressure" and called on the Court "to show maximum leniency in imposing the sentence". .

He also called on the House to "show its discretion to suspend imprisonment in case it decides to do so", called for "giving the girl a second chance" and described as a "great punishment" for the 19-year-old what she went through in Cyprus and one month of her detention in the Central Prison ”.
