Antonis Christou Gerimou has officially announced his candidacy for the position of Deputy Mayor of Ayia Napa.

Dear fellow citizens, dear fellow citizens,
The period we are going through as well as the period that will follow the upcoming elections of June 9, 2024 for the reform of local government, is a period of significant changes for all of Cyprus and therefore also for Ayia Napa.
The goal of all of us, at the base of the reform, should be focused on two pillars. One pillar should focus on creating the right conditions and opportunities for the creation of a municipality that will focus on each citizen.
The second pillar should aim to maintain the municipality as a living entity by taking advantage of the opportunities that will be given keeping it in the position it deserves to be.
In order for these pillars to have a solid foundation, for the goals to be achieved and the promises to be transformed into actions, in addition to the systematic work that is needed, our municipality should be represented by people with vision, assertiveness and love for it, so that they can on the one hand, to contribute to its multifaceted development, and on the other hand, to solve the problems that exist or will arise.
For the above reasons, guided by my great love for Ayia Napa and my desire to work for the well-being of its citizens, I have decided to re-claim the position of vice-mayor of Ayia Napa, based on my experience and knowledge regarding the mode of operation of local government.
The transitional period of clustering of municipalities and communities requires just that. Experience and knowledge, because experimentation often leads to dangerous pitfalls.
My vision, the smooth transition from the existing operating framework of the municipality to the new operating regime, healthy and sustainable development, maximizing the efficiency of municipal services and excellence in the quality of the projects that can be implemented in Ayia Napa. Ensuring sustainability, where development and respect for the environment will coexist, upgrading all areas of the municipality, further improving the readability, image and identification of Ayia Napa as a quality tourist destination.
Solving the issues that affect the daily life of the citizens of Ayia Napa and promoting their quality of life. The citizen should be the focus of the municipality, in fact and not verbally, in an attractive place for living and business development. I firmly believe that all together, united, we will be able to utilize the potential and comparative advantages of Ayia Napa, to claim the leading role it deserves and deserves.
I am at the disposal of everyone, regardless of political or ideological origin, to chat about all the material, to listen to your opinions, positions and concerns, so that together we can plan a future with auspicious prospects for the municipal district of Ayia Napa.
With a sense of responsibility, I am asking for your support, so that I can represent Ayia Napa and each of you in the newly formed municipality of Ayia Napa.
