The new "ambassadors of tourism" were recently announced by Ayia Napa.
An announcement from the Municipality states that last week three couples, two from Scotland and one from the United Kingdom, were awarded honorary titles of "Tourism Ambassador" of the city.
Bill and Dixie Forbes from Scotland have visited Ayia Napa 76 times for their holiday, John and Margaret Mackrell also from Scotland 43 times and the British Garry and Ann Stewart 36 times.
"The great beauties of Ayia Napa and its hospitable inhabitants led me to come 60 times." This was stated by the British Stan Dibble to the Cultural Officer of the Municipality Mrs. Maria Tofini Tsantila as he was recently awarded, as part of a modest ceremony, the commemorative plaque and the special emblem with which he proclaimed him Ambassador of Tourism of Ayia Napa.
