The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karousos, expressed his strong reaction through Social Media on the occasion of spontaneous reaction of residents of Ayia Napa who closed part of the Larnaca-Ayia Napa highway at midnight on Wednesday, reacting to the illegal burning of garbage in illegal landfills.

Giannis Karousos expressed his pride for his citizens who have been indignant with this issue and very correctly, according to him, they did, while he also expressed his concern why the citizens want solutions and not services.
At the same time, because, as he stated, the aim is to stop the illegal activity of the scammers who burn garbage in the illegal landfills, he declared the violators, offering as a reward the amount of € 5.000 to anyone who gives information that will lead to the arrest of the placer the fires.
