The five Israelis, suspected of the gang rape of a British woman in Ayia Napa, will remain in the cell until their presentation before the Permanent Criminal Court.

The District Court of Famagusta decided today to hold them until October 5.

It is recalled that the five individuals face offenses related to rape, sexual abuse by penetration, intercourse by force, coercion to commit intercourse or other acts of a sexual nature, indecent assault against a woman, sexual harassment and kidnapping.

On Monday (18/9) the detention order of the five suspects expired and the investigators of the case brought them before the District Court of Famagusta where the case was registered.

It is recalled that the 20-year-old tourist reported to the Police that she was raped by a number of people in a hotel in Ayia Napa.

Testimony was secured against five foreigners, two aged 20 and three aged 19, who were arrested.

The case is being investigated by the Famagusta Police Department.
