Arrest for possession of cocaine in a discotheque in Ayia Napa

A coordinated search operation at a property in the province of Famagusta was carried out by the Police in the evening, during which the person in charge of the property was arrested after detecting cocaine with a total gross weight of approximately 96 grams.

According to an announcement by the Police, the operation of its members at the premises, which is located in Ayia Napa, was carried out 20 minutes after midnight today, based on a court order, with the participation of members of YKAN, ADE Famagusta and MMAD.

During the search, which was carried out by the members of the Police in the presence of the 32-year-old manager of the premises, two packages of cocaine, weighing approximately 32 grams and a precision scale with traces of cocaine were found in a storage area, in the office of the 89-year-old. Another nine bags of cocaine, weighing 7,2 grams, were found in a metal drawer.

The 32-year-old was arrested for spontaneous offenses, while shortly after 4.00 in the morning, he was re-arrested on a court warrant and was detained for the purpose of investigating the case.

A case of illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of supply to another person, illegal possession of drugs and supply of drugs to another person is being investigated against the suspect.

The case is being investigated by YKAN (Famagusta District Committee).
