According to a Guardian article, the travel agent who sent the British tourist to Cyprus for a vacation stated that he would no longer send other young people to Ayia Napa, as a sign of protest for the treatment of the 19-year-old by the Cypriot authorities.

Summer Takeover has said it will stop working on Ayia Napa after the Guardian found out it was continuing to advertise the hotel where the 19-year-old and the Israelis happened last July.

The company, which describes itself as the number one holiday company in Europe, said on Friday that it had removed from the options offered by this hotel and provided compensation to those who had booked holidays in Ayia Napa.

The director of the newspaper "I Kathimerini", Andreas Paraschos, speaking to the Guardian, said: "This case has tarnished the image of Cyprus. From the beginning there were mishandling by people who should have been pillars of society. "Only the negative publicity is a big price that Cyprus pays".
