The opening of the Christmas village of Deryneia took place on Saturday 25/11 and the strawberry put on its festive celebrations.
The event started with the symphonic band of the municipality of Strovolos, continued with the dance demonstrations from the "Passion Dance" Dance School of Elena Ttofa, the Lighting of the Christmas Tree, the Children's Corner with Santa Claus and his elves, Traditional Carols and Christmas songs by the Municipal Choir of Deryneia, Christmas songs by students of the Music School of Niki and Christos Karaiskos, Christmas Mascots by members of the Dance Group "Drymio" of the Municipality of Deryneia and a party with Dj Stelios Mix FM.
The Mayor of Deryneia, Mr. Andros Karagiannis, stated that it is a special honor for the Municipality of Deryneia that it has been included in the seven Christmas villages of Cyprus, while he particularly thanked the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and Mr. Kostas Koumis.
Also Mr. Karagiannis mentioned that the presence of the people is a mix between local and foreign visitors while this is the goal of the Christmas villages to promote the tradition and culture of Cyprus.
