DERYNIA: The national memorial service of the hero Dimitrakis Christodoulou is being held

A memorial speech will be delivered by Mr. Giorgos Karoullas, Member of Parliament of Famagusta, Vice-President of DISY

On Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Holy Church of All Saints in Deryneia, the national commemoration of the heroes of the 1955-59 EOKA National Liberation Struggle, Dimitrakis Christodoulou and his co-combatants, Stylianou Lena and Sotiris Tsangari, will be held.

The memorial will be added by the Most Venerable Metropolitan of Constantia-Famagusta Vassilios.

A memorial speech will be delivered by Mr. Giorgos Karoullas, Member of Parliament for Famagusta, Vice-President of DISY.

Contributions are preferred instead of wreaths to support the "Dimitrakis Christodoulou" relief fund. The laying of wreaths will take place at the Hero's monument.

BRIEF CV

Dimitrakis Christodoulou was born in the village of Deryneia in the province of Famagusta on August 5, 1936.
He died heroically fighting together with his associates Sotiris Tsaggaris and Stylianos Lena on February 17, 1957 in a skirmish with British Soldiers in a location between Potamitissa - Pelendrio.
