The Famagusta Tourism Development and Promotion Company decided to implement advertising campaigns aimed at promoting tourism in the province of Famagusta, through the most popular social networks, Facebook and Instagram.

Speaking to KYPE, the company official Lakis Avraamidis, said that the members of the company, looking for new ways to attract tourism, after the foreign tourism exhibitions were canceled due to the Koronoi pandemic, ended up promoting the province via the internet.

"By mid-March the advertising campaign is expected to be released and will last about two to three months"

The spots that will be created exclusively by the Famagusta ETAP will be promoted in traditional markets of the region and these, according to Mr. Abrahamidis, are the United Kingdom, Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the Scandinavian countries.

"Of course, the epidemiological picture of these countries will be taken into account at the time of screening," he said, adding that "there is a general concern about the summer of 2021."

As he explained, the tourist institutions place their hopes in the vaccine.

"It will be important for Cyprus, if the first countries to make the vaccine with positive results will be the countries that are important tourist markets for our island," he noted.

All actions promoted by ETAP are carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, which supports all actions.
