The province of Famagusta ranks last in terms of issuing Building Permits compared to other provinces. According to the data published today by the Cyprus Statistical Service, during the month of January 2024, in the province of Famagusta, only 37 building permits in relation to 587 which were issued throughout Cyprus. Specifically, they were issued 65 building permits in Paphos, 124 in Larnaca, 144 in Limassol and 217 in Nicosia. As for the residential units that were built in January, they were built in the province of Famagusta 35, in Paphos 41, in Larnaca 179, in Limassol 287 and in Nicosia 292.
The Statistical Service announced that the number of building permits issued by municipal authorities and provincial administrations in January 2024 reached 587. The total value of these permits reached €221,3 million and the total area 198,2 thousand square meters. With these permits it is planned to erect 834 residential units. Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the number of building permits issued decreased by 0,5%. The total value of these licenses decreased by 8,3% and the total area by 2,4%. The number of residential units showed a decrease of 11,1%. Building permits are an important indicator of future activity in the construction sector.
