In her statements to KYPE, Amalia Hatzigianni, Scientific Director of the General Hospitals of Larnaca - Famagusta stated that “in the General Hospital of Famagusta the vaccinations of the population are done daily this week. About 84 people, aged 80-85, are vaccinated daily, who have made an appointment through the Vaccination Portal ".

He added that "apart from the elderly, first line people are also vaccinated, ie doctors and nurses from both the Famagusta Hospital and the private sector who are registered in the Vaccination Portal.

He added that "next week the vaccinations will take place from Monday to Thursday for people over 95 who have made an appointment with the Vaccination Portal and the remaining first line people, ie doctors, nursing and other staff of the Hospital and of the private sector ".

Answering a relevant question, Ms. Hatzigianni said that "the vials with the vaccine are kept in the freezer at -70 degrees Celsius, while they are kept out of the freezer for up to 48 hours. "Nurses who do the vaccinations must have extra people in order to get the vaccine."

However, he continued, "the vial can produce 5 or even 6 vaccines, with the result that the rest of the two vials give another vaccine. The nurses, following the instructions of the Medical Services, take all the necessary measures to utilize the last drop of the vaccine, calling at the last minute to be vaccinated, people of the first line ".

In Larnaca, in the Vaccination Department of the old Hospital, about 100 people over the age of 80 are vaccinated daily.

It is reminded that the public goes to the Vaccination Centers with their ID and after it is confirmed that they were registered in the Vaccination Portal, then the vaccination takes place.

Citizens then stay in the area for about 15 minutes in case they possibly get anything from the vaccine and then leave after first getting the document stating their appointment for the next dose of the vaccine.
