The Famagusta Region Tourism Development and Promotion Company, together with hotels in the region, represented the province in the Roadshow implemented by the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, from April 8-10, 2024, in Warsaw, Krakow and Katowice.

During the meetings in Poland, ETAP Famagusta made a series of contacts with leading travel organizers active in the Polish market in an effort to promote, inform and promote the tourism product of the region, with the aim of further strengthening the trend recorded in recent years, for increased flow of tourists from various Polish cities.

Through the contacts, the intention to strengthen existing collaborations became apparent, a particularly encouraging element for the tourism sector in the region, as well as in Cyprus more broadly, as Poland is an important market, with great prospects both in terms of tourism during the summer months and and in special forms of tourism throughout the year. At the center of the contacts were the services and experiences that the province of Famagusta provides to its visitors, while optimism was recorded that arrivals from Poland in 2024 will surpass those of the previous year.

On the positive side, the increased interest from the point of view of travel organizers, regarding the Famagusta area, on the one hand in relation to special forms of tourism and on the other hand in terms of mass tourism for the summer months.

In his statements, the official of ETAP Famagusta, Mr. Giorgos Kavkalias, focused particularly on the prospect of the Polish market becoming one of the most important for Cypriot tourism over time, but also tourism in the Famagusta region in particular, since as he said, already last year such a trend was seen, which should be strengthened. "The connectivity between Larnaca airport and several Polish destinations with direct flights is a key factor for further investment in the Polish market," he said. According to Mr. Kavkalia, one of the important elements that emerged from the meetings, is the intention recorded by the travel organizers to exploit the region as an attractive destination throughout the year, an element that creates new dynamics.

The presence of ETAP Famagusta in the workshops-presentations in Poland, are part of the actions agreed by all ETAP member bodies for 2024, while they are an integral part of the new communication and promotion strategy in the international markets as it has been formed for the current year.
