Alexis Galanos addressed a call to the refugee world for a common struggle but also to the state for the defense of the interests of the refugees and especially to the occupied city of Famagusta from Deryneia on Monday night.
The Mayor of Famagusta referred to the effort to unite the refugee world, stating that the refugee is indivisible. He stressed that the first thing to pay special attention to is the loss of use of property but also to have transparency in Turkish Cypriot property.
He announced that efforts will be made to organize a pan-Cypriot gathering and the establishment of a Ministry of Refugees will be sought, which will defend the interests of refugees.

Regarding the relations between the occupied and the free province, he stated that 85% is occupied and 15% free and expressed the satisfaction but also the joy for the free Famagusta that is developing without at the same time emphasizing that it was, is and will remains the city of Famagusta.

The Mayor of Paralimni stressed that free Famagusta is treated as an orphan, referring to the injustices that exist in the area due to the occupied Diocese. He also sent the message that the "Famagusta" of the Cyprus problem is heard to serve specific interests and that everyone should stand close to the refugee world and raise their voice for the return of Famagusta to its legal inhabitants.
