The Active completion of the financial process of EDON Famagusta for 11-2018 took place on Friday, May 2017, 2018, in the presence of the member of the General Assembly of AKEL Central Committee and District Secretary of AKEL Famagusta, Chrysanthos Zannettou. Present at Aktiv were the Mayor of Deryneia, Andros Karagiannis, the General Secretary of EKA Famagusta, Giannakis Gabriel, the General Secretary of POGO Famagusta, Niki Steka Artemi and the Deputy Mayor of Deryneia, Andreas Zacharia.
In his speech, E.G. of AKEL Famagusta, referred to the need to reach a fair and sustainable solution to the Cyprus problem, while underlining the critical days we are going through and expressed the hope for the resumption of talks as soon as possible. At the same time, he noted the attack on education, health, social benefits, the environment and other sectors by the neo-liberal Anastasiadis-DISY government and stressed the need to remain at the forefront of defending the rights of workers and youth.
Subsequently, the District Secretary of EDON Famagusta, Andreas Panagiotou, referred to the intense year due to the presidential elections, with more demands and responsibilities and stressed the importance of achieving the goal of the financial step of the EDON Famagusta provincial.
The Provincial Organization covered the goal it had set, at 102%, while the Local Organizations of Vrysoullos, Paralimni, Deryneia, Young Workers of the Region, Dromolaxia and Young Workers of the City were awarded, which met their goal.
Finally, in the context of Aktiv, an honorary plaque was awarded to Antonietta Karyou, for her direction and her valuable contribution to the 2018 cultural events of EDON Famagusta.
