Two killed protected wild birds and a device for the production of bird sounds were found today, in the possession of a 35-year-old man, who was reported with an extrajudicial fine of 3,000 euros.

The 35-year-old was found hunting in an area in Liopetri, around 8.30 on Wednesday morning, by members of the Thera Service, who found that he was illegally using a device for producing bird sounds. In his possession, the members of the Thera Service then located two freshly slaughtered vines.

The sound production device and the two wild birds were seized by members of the Police as evidence, while the 35-year-old was issued an extrajudicial fine of 3,000 euros, for owning the device and killing the two birds.

The shotgun of the 35-year-old was also seized by the Police, while the Xylofagou Police Station continues the examinations.
